Best time for place

The best times for place lists represent the fastest times reported for each finish place, for example, what is the fastest time ever recorded for a male runner finishing 5th in a marathon - 2:07:49 by Yi-Yon Kim of KOR who placed 5th in the 1999 Rotterdam (HOL) Marathon held on 18 Apr 1999.

These lists also tell you the largest number of runners ever to finish under a given time in a single race. For example, the 1999 Rotterdam Marathon had the most runners under 2:07:50 in a single race (five) which is also the most under 2:08:00.

Race results received are not always complete. To avoid the anomaly of an decreasing time or a gap in times with increasing place, lists are terminated at that point. Otherwise, the list continues until the time exceeds the cut-off time for automatic inclusion in the ADR database.

Road marks are limited to statistically valid and record quality marks. In these lists, the fastest time is shown regardless of whether or not the course is point-to-point.
