Note: The above championships were held under the auspices of the Northern Ireland Athletics Association (NIAA) which was formed in 1937 after the IAAF suspended the National Athletic and Cycling Association (NACA) which had jurisdiction over all the counties of Ireland. NACA (All-Ireland) Championships continued to be held thru 1966 as well as All-Ireland Championships held under the joint auspices of the NIAA and the (Irish) Amateur Athletic Union (AAU), see National Marathon Champions for Ireland.
