Notes: 1977 was the inaugural year. The race distance for women was 15 km prior to 1999. Times for 1982-1989 were exceptionally fast and it is considered that these courses were short. The women's 15 km race was held in conjunction with the men over 40 so it is considered to be a mixed sex race. Both race courses consist of a single loop.

In the 2006 men's race, Salim Kipsang (KEN) should have been disqualified for illegally pacing Haile Gebreselasie in a special 25 km race that was set up to use the 20 km race for pace making. Neither Kipsang's mark nor that of Haile Gebreselasie are recognized by the ARRS.
