Note: 1971 was the inaugural year. For 1977 and earlier, this event was known as the Green Mountain AA Marathon.
For 1971-72 and was held on a two loop course at Mallet's Bay (near Colchester on the mainland); for 1973-77, a
five loop course at the same venue was used. From 1978 thru 1985, this event was known as the Green Mountain Island
Marathon and the course was a loop around Grand Isle. In 1986, the course was changed to an out-and-back course
over sections of the previous course.
